The History of the Chinese in Oroville, California 1853 to 1940

We will be adding content to this page for the next 4 to 6 weeks, including over 500 period newspaper articles, maps, Land deeds, mining deeds and other material related to the history of the Chinese in Oroville. For now we wanted to share the presentation on Oroville and The Two Chinatowns, putting things in perspective. Please visit the Chinese Temple in Oroville at 1500 Broderick Street. It is open Friday and Saturday 10 am to 2 pm. It is a great experience! The Chinese cemetery is located on Feather River Blvd, home of the 1870 lava beds mentioned in this presentaion.
